To start of politely I'd first like to say..Fuck all you idiots who
call Avril or anyone else a poser. As I see it, there is no such thing as a poser but the people who invented the word. In
todays society people are going to get made fun of, talked about and harassed but its the generation of decent people who
need to stop it. If its pointless or negative bullshit about people that your going to rant on about then I say keep
it to yourself. Recently the singer Avril Lavigne came out with her debut "complicated". While many people may have liked
the song, an over powering amount of people critisized and put down her so-called punk style. This is when the word
"posing" came in and would soon never disappear. I think that people need to realize that your vocals or the music you
love to perform in no way needs to be associated with the way one dresses. Thats like saying because I prefer to dress "punk"
as we call it, that I automatically would choose punk vocals if ever starting a band or anything of that sort. Further more,
punk is not nor never meant the way someone wears their clothes. Punk is about your attitude not the way you dress. It is
just today in the newer generation, teens have classifications for styles of clothing such as punk, thug, skank etc. What
I am basically wondering is why people insist on making fun of her style and her music just because she prefers wearing ties,
studded braclets etc. and her vocals are somewhat not of punk genre. To all you who think you know what a poser is or think
what she wears is wrong then I honestly give you the thumbs down and say fuck all of you because you obviously dont know what
your talking about. To me if the word poser is even going to be used, then it means someone who dresses or acts a certain
way to fit in or because they think its the "cool thing" to do. If you have a certain style and thats you and thats what you
like then in no way are you a poser. If you like to dress punk or any other way then you should be doing it simply because
you like the look of it and because thats you and what u want to express. In many cases it just so happens that a person who
dresses punk also listens to it and quite possibly sings it. In no way has any rule or book stated that a poser must listen
to punk/rap/pop if they dress a certain way or have the abilities to sing that way as well. What you like if hopefully who
you are as a person and ones individuality should not be stated by wearing something simply because everyone else is or you
think its the right thing to do. Its who you are and who you've made yourself to be, not what others like. To wrap things up
I'd like to end with how I began. Your a poser if you try to be something your not simply because others do so. If you truely
like the style you've chosen to create and wear then thats you and what you believe and no one else. Fuck anyone who disses
someone because of how they dress if you do not have facts or reasoning behind it. And last but definately not least, Avril
is not a poser nor will she ever be. Shes an independent teenage girl with great style, good vocals, and a personality and
childhood history to truely be classified as a punk. Thank you..
